Robert “Bob” Lee
August 8, 1951 - July 14, 2024

Robert Edward “Bob” Lee, born on August 8, 1951, in Browns Summit, NC, to the late Rev. Russell Lee, Sr. and Evelyn (Tombs) Lee, went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2024, in Jacksonville, NC, at the age of 72. Bob’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, and his community.

Bob grew up with a love for sports, participating in both tennis and football during his high school years. This early passion for athletics continued throughout his life as he enjoyed watching tennis, racquetball, wrestling and football, and engaging in all kinds of sports. His love for golf, grilling, planting flowers, and yard work brought joy to his days and beauty to his surroundings.

He pursued his higher education with great diligence, earning a Master’s Degree in Education from A&T University, which laid the foundation for his professional career. After earning this degree, he went on to teach at McLeansville Middle School teaching science and was a basketball coach there. He then became the Assistant Principal at McLeansville Middle School before transferring to South Eastern Middle School to serve as Assistant Principal for many years. Bob dedicated the next chapter of his life being an Insurance Salesman for AmeriLife Insurance Company, where his commitment and hard work made an impact on his clients.

A man of deep faith, Bob was an active member of Camp Herman Baptist Church. His connection to the Lord was evident in the way he lived his life, always showing kindness, compassion, and a sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him. His sarcasm and dry humor were cherished by friends and family, adding a unique charm to his personality.

Bob’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his beloved children, Bryan Cole Lee and his wife Karen of Clemmons, and Megan Lee Hyler and her husband Josh of Gibsonville. His cherished grandchildren, Shelbi, Eva, Brody, Addison, and Emerson, brought immense joy to his heart. Bob’s siblings, Russell Cole Lee, Jr., LaVerne Reece, and JoAnn Braswell, along with many nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law, and brothers-in-law, will forever remember his loving nature and generous spirit.

Throughout his life, Bob resided in Greensboro, NC, and Winston Salem, NC, creating lasting memories and friendships in these communities. His journey came full circle once he moved to Jacksonville, NC, where he spent his final days enjoying retirement.

Services to honor and celebrate Bob’s life will be held at a later date. His legacy of love, humor, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. Bob Lee’s memory will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
