Robert “Bob” Norman Thomas Taylor passed away peacefully at his home in Wilmington, NC on August 3, 2016 at the age of 69. Robert was born in Yonkers, NY on August 17, 1946. He was a retired respiratory therapist from the local hospital in Wilmington, NC; where he moved to with his family from Augusta, ME. He enjoyed repairing engines, a skill he learned while serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Robert was an extremely loving and kind hearted man. He was preceded in death by his son Matthew Marriner of Wilmington, NC. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Susan Taylor of Wilmington, NC; 4 daughters Margaret Patterson and husband Robert Patterson of Wake Forest, NC, Lisa DeBock and husband Dennis DeBock of Wilmington, NC; Rebecca Marriner of Wilmington, NC, Diane Olson of Wilmington, NC; 7 grandchildren Salvatore, Kimberly, Mattison, Isabella, Ziane, Stella, and Robert; brother Thomas Taylor of Shirley, NY; sister Patricia Taylor of Landsdale, PA; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at his home on Dotson Ct. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders.
