He was born November 29, 1949 in Salisbury, NC to Wilie Lee Snider and Frankie Lorene Owens.

Scotty was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam era and worked for Harris Teeter and prior to that, he was with Food Lion. He was an avid reader and loved to travel and taking pictures.

He is survived by her daughter, Dawn Snider of North Myrtle Beach, SC; brother Robertson (Steve) Snyder and wife Paula of Rockwell, NC and their child Stephen Snyder; brother Michael (Mike) Snyder and wife Shelby of Salisbury, NC and their children Brandy Talley and Michael Snyder; sister Susan Anthony and husband Forrest Todd Anthony of Cleveland, NC and their children Kelly Adams, Forrest (TJ) Anthony, and Stacy Lewis; sister Ann Steel and husband Darron Steel of Cleveland, NC.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Gail Daniel Snider.
