Sheena (McGaha) Walker
February 3, 1947 - February 22, 2024

Sheena Virginia Walker, 77, of Fuquay-Varina, passed away on February 22, 2024, at ECU Duplin Hospital. Born on February 3, 1947, in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Austin McGaha and Jane (Rae) McGaha.  She was a devoted individual who lived a life full of love and compassion. Sheena touched the hearts of many with her vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness.

Sheena held many roles in several places throughout her life including working at State Farm in Frederick, MD, NIST in Gaithersburg, MD and PBA in Georgia. Her most cherished role, however, was to devote her time and generosity to her loved ones and desired nothing more than being with her family.

Sheena had a zest for life and brought a sense of adventure and laughter everywhere she went. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, eating out, traveling, playing pinochle, spending time with friends, and family gatherings. One of her greatest passions and comforts was the love she shared with her many dogs she had and took care of throughout her life.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sean D. Walker and Ronni J. Riccardi (Michael); grandchildren Tori Candler and Brooke Riccardi; great-grandson Jace Colucci; her niece, Sarah DiSandro (Chris); great-nephew Carson DiSandro; and her beloved rescue dog, April.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years and her best friend and sister, Patricia Barnhouse.

A Celebration of Life service honoring Sheena’s remarkable life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced by the family. She will be remembered for her vivacious and dramatic personality, for her caring nature, open heart, and ability to forgive without holding onto grudges, not even for 5 minutes.

Sheena Virginia Walker’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We find comfort in knowing we will all meet again.
