It is with great sadness that the family of Talon Grey announces her passing after a recent diagnosis of Stage III Breast Cancer on October 5, 2017. On Sunday, December 17, 2017 Talon died at the age of 50 at Novant Brunswick Medical Center with her family by her side. She went peacefully and she no longer suffers the agonizing pain with which she was burdened with for many years. Talon, or “T” is survived by her two children, Lillian May Cosentino and Jacob Ralph Cosentino of Supply, NC (21 and 18 years old respectively), and three sisters: Gloria O’Mara and Linda Immerzeel of Washington and Diane Termonen of Finland. Talon will be remembered as the most loving woman anyone has ever met. She always welcomed people with an open heart and would give them the shirt off of her back if they needed it. Talon cherished her two children more than anything. She said that her purpose in life was to be a great mother for Lillian and Jacob. Talon also loved animals and her pets were dear to her heart.
Talon was born as Kathleen Joan Immerzeel (she later changed her name) on March 3, 1967 to Deletha Merle Fry and George Ellis Immerzeel. Although Talon was born in Waterloo, Iowa she grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother David Immerzeel. Talon dedicated many years of her life as a stay-at-home mother. Talon also volunteered for Brunswick and Pender County K9 Search and Rescue with her K9 Jessie (Weimaraner) in which she found missing people and cadavers. She received her NASAR certification along with many qualifications. She enjoyed spending time with her children, camping, fishing, swimming at the beach and going on adventures.
A celebration of Talon Grey’s life will be held on January 6th at 2pm at her home 315 Sassafras lane SW Supply, NC 28462. It will be a potluck and we are asking everyone that attends to bring their favorite food.
