Theresa “Tee Tee” Brehm, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Jacksonville, NC on April 3, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 20, 1948, in Trenton, NJ to the late Robert Donald Van Hise and Margaret (Craven) Van Hise. She was a vibrant soul who lived a life full of love, laughter, and warm hugs. At the time of her passing, she was 75 years old.
“Tee Tee,” as she was affectionately known, touched the lives of many through her work as a CNA at Statesman Nursing Home and Miller’s Personal Care Facility when she resided in Levittown, PA. Her caring nature and infectious smile brought comfort and joy to all she encountered. Tee Tee’s outgoing personality, huge hugs, and genuine love for everyone around her made her a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her.
In addition to her work, Tee Tee found solace and strength in her Lutheran faith. She embraced life with an open heart, never holding back her affection, words or kindness. Her spirit of generosity and compassion was truly inspiring.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 18 years, John R. Brehm; sisters, Joyce Alitzer (Bill) with whom she lived with, Patty Moran of Levittown, PA, Mary Bresnen of Morrisville, PA and Margaret Van Hise of Hamilton Township, NJ; one granddaughter; her close nieces, Phyllis Jennings and Lisa Miller; beloved dog, Blue who already senses her passing; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. She is dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Despite her smile, Tee Tee is no stranger to heartache as she was preceded in death by her three children, Theresa Rupp, Samantha Rupp and Michael R. Rupp, as well as her close sister, Phyllis Speckhart; and brothers Robert D. Van Hise Jr., Kenneth Van Hise, and Kenneth Arthur Van Hise.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Cardinal Hospice for their loving care and kindness given to Tee Tee. They often made her their “last stop” of the day since she brought joy, hugs and laughter to their working days.
A Celebration of Life service will be held this summer to honor and remember the beautiful life of Tee Tee. Details will be updated here and announced by the family as well.
Tee Tee’s legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May her spirit continue to inspire us all to live with the same warmth and generosity that she shared so effortlessly.
