
Tracy Ann Jerry-Laraia, age 60, of Watha, NC and formerly of East Hartford, CT passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at her home.
She was born on June 7, 1958 in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late William A. Laraia and Irene F. (Barker) Laraia. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Phillip Busch.
Tracy attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and East Hartford High School in East Hartford, CT. She was employed with Hamilton Standard, Konica/Qualex while in East Hartford and worked most currently for Century Link in NC. She relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina in 1999 to enjoy the easy pace of southern living.
Tracy had a contagious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to those around her. She was a strong, determined woman that was fiercely devoted and protective of her family. She enjoyed the wind in her hair as she rode her Harley Davidson, enjoyed the excitement of Bike Week in Myrtle Beach, SC and doing creative arts and crafts. Most of all she is known for being a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time in the company of her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Kristine Jerry (Bill) and Shantel Johnson (Andy) of NC; son, Ruben W. Torres of NC; Her children’s father, Ruben Torres (Hilda) of CT; three grandchildren, Angel Torres, Tony Johnson and soon to be born Laraia Jorden; sisters, Lorelei Leedy (Ron) of CA and Debra Laraia of CT; very special cousin, Chris Costa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
A celebration of Tracy’s life will be planned and held at a later date in CT. The family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to all of the family and friends who have reached out and offered their love an support during this difficult time. Tracy will be missed by many and will live on through her children and grandchildren. We love you and miss you so much Big Mama!

Losing a loved one in death can bring a Lot of pain. Sometime it can be hard to bear. God holds out comfort to you and the family.
